Frequently Asked Questions

Rose Packing Company welcomes your comments and concerns about our products. Our Frequently Asked Questions section has the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our company, products and our website.

  1. Does Rose Canadian Bacon contain gluten?

No. Rose Packing Canadian Bacon is Gluten-Free.

  2. What is shelf life of your Canadian Bacon?

In a vacuum packed, "fresh" state, (refrigerated in product packaging) our Canadian Bacon will last 75 days!

  3. Does your Canadian Bacon contain Milk, Eggs, or Nuts?

Rose Packing does not use Milk, Eggs, or Nuts in manufacturing Canadian Bacon.

  4. How do you recommend I cook my Canadian Bacon?

If you prefer your Canadian Bacon heated, pan frying is the recommended method. No oil is necessary. Many people choose to just eat it straight out of the package, though!

  5. What is the difference between Tavern Ham and Pit Ham ?

Our Tavern ham is hung on an "oven tree" and appeals to the consumer seeking the "traditional" ham. The Pitt ham has a longer cure cycle and is cooked in a "smokey netting" (giving it the surrounding dimples).

  6. Do you have to fully thaw a frozen ham before cooking ?

We recommend thawing your ham in a refrigerated environment prior to cooking. It is possible to cook your ham from a frozen state; however, you should plan on a longer cook time if this is your decided route.
